In August 2014 Pat came to our office with her husband, despondent and overwhelmed by the process as she attempted to make a Total Permanent Disability and Income Protection claim.

A medical condition had led to Pat no longer being able to work and when she had first approached her industry Superannuation  fund, she faced seemingly endless requirements relating to doctors reports and employment information.

R&A stepped in to navigate the claim process for Pat; working closely with the insurer to ensure the maximum amount was paid. As a result, a lump sum pay out was made within five months from the initial date of the claim and in addition, the insurer committed to a regular Income Protection payout over the coming years. As part of the service R&A also sat down with Pat and her husband to talk about their superannuation and retirement, to ensure their financial security into the future.

At R&A we know the value of insurance but we are never happier when we see an outcome like this. To know that Pat’s medical bills are covered and that she has ongoing financial security into her retirement is what it’s all about for us.

Pat was obviously thrilled too, in her own words: ‘It is so rare these days to meet such a happy, friendly team that are totally focused on their job.’
