Pre- Aged Care Planning:
‘Are we there yet?’ *
*Yes. Probably.
Hi and welcome to Naomi This Month, a once off interruption of your regular Mark This Month!
I’m in charge of the keyboard this issue to tell you about a new service, soon to be offered by Rando and Associates, indeed a new service for the South West.
Pre – Aged Care Planning
This service is for you or maybe a family member (your parents for example) who are seeking to make the most of their pension entitlements and reduce their aged care fees.
Sometimes Mum and Dad might need or want to make the move to an aged care service sooner than expected. Or; maybe they’ve just decided it’s time to downsize and have a caring community of people around them as they start the next stage of their life.

Kevin and Sharon were pretty stoked to downsize and take up some old hobbies…

There are a number of things to think about at this time: What happens to the family home? Should you sell or hang on to it? If a decision is made to sell, then what sort of investments will best suit payment toward the aged care fees? For the farmers out there I can also help with succession planning.
Whatever your situation, Rando and Associates will be able to assist you in managing the financial side of this sometimes difficult and challenging time for your family.
Hang on a sec, last time I checked you were answering the phones- when did this all happen?
Well, Mark has been planning it since I started with the team, as he knew about my previous experience. My joining the team has given him the opportunity to grow the business and move into a specific advice area that he’d always had an interest in.

‘Look Ron, the facilities are great but will we ever get rid of the grandkids??’

So what is your background?
Before I made the move to Rando and Associates I worked with Centrelink. For 23 years in fact.
I was a ‘Complex Assessor’ and my role was to assess entitlements for Centrelink clients with complex financial situations or investments who, as a result of misfortune or investments gone sour, were eligible for support. As a result I have a detailed knowledge of the Centrelink system of payments.
In addition to this experience, I am a qualified accountant and am very experienced in trawling the fine details in financial statements and tax returns.
I am well versed in spotting the common (and not so common) missteps that people can make at this time in their lives. And; if you have stumbled a bit, I will be able to help get you back on the right track, making sound investment decisions with you for your future.
I am also currently undertaking my Diploma in Financial Service (Financial Planning), with specialist qualifications in Aged Care pre planning and this service will be available to you by the end of the year.

‘Mark honestly, just give me Jan’s file, it’s all going to be fine.’

In the meantime, if this email raises some questions for you, in anticipation of this new service we will be holding a seminar for interested clients and members of the public on 21st July 2016 at the Rando and Associates office, 19 Forrest Avenue, Bunbury at 5:30pm.
If you are interested in attending this seminar, RSVP to me Naomi@rando.com.au or call the office on (08) 9792 4800 to register your interest.
Refreshments and light snacks will be served and I look forward to meeting you then if not before!
